Foster care
Do you consider adoption to be too final? If you are full of doubts during your pregnancy about whether you are able or willing to care for your child, you could put the baby into temporary foster care. Your baby will be taken after birth, but you remain its legal parent.
There are many different forms of foster care. The staff of Foster Care Flanders (Pleegzorg Vlaanderen) assess your needs and your ability to look after the baby. They draft a proposal based on this assessment.
